{"id":2864,"date":"2025-12-15T19:02:56","date_gmt":"2025-12-15T19:02:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stannestocktonchurch.com\/?p=2864"},"modified":"2025-12-15T19:02:56","modified_gmt":"2025-12-15T19:02:56","slug":"friday-letter-december-12-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stannestocktonchurch.com\/?p=2864","title":{"rendered":"Friday Letter &#8211; December 12, 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dear Friends in Christ,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God encourage us in this reading from Isaiah:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Strengthen the feeble hands,<\/em><\/strong><strong><em><br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;steady the knees&nbsp;that give way;<br>say&nbsp;to those with fearful hearts,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\u201cBe strong, do not fear;<br>your God will come.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Isaiah 35:3,4<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J Davey Gerhard the author of an Advent reflection written for the TENS newsletter reflects on this passage:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Here is one of Scripture\u2019s most tender invitations: \u201cStrengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees.\u201d Advent does not ask us to pretend. It does not require us to be strong. Instead, it shows us God turning toward the vulnerable \u2013 in ourselves, in each other\u2026 and teaching us to do the same. \u2026. Hands weaken under strain; knees tremble under worry. In times of illness, depression, grief, or exhaustion, strength ebbs slowly.
